Why You Need A Carbon Monoxide Test

Carbon Monoxide is the #1 cause of poisonings in the U.S., yet less than 5% of all CO Poisonings are reported! Without proper testing using a calibrated combustion analyzer, you can’t be sure that your heating and combustion appliances are working correctly and efficiently. Also, the technology, instruments and training to do this testing correctly have only been available for a few years, so odds are your home has never been properly tested.

All of Masterwork’s Carbon Monoxide technicians are certified to properly test and diagnose any potential exposure threatening you and your home.

It’s About Your Health and Safety

We get asked sometimes why we care so much about Carbon Monoxide protection for our clients. It comes down to caring about the health and safety of our clients. You may know that carbon monoxide can reach lethal levels, but you may not know that carbon monoxide, even in small quantities, can cause other serious health problems, particularly in children and the elderly. Millions of unsuspecting homeowners are exposed to low levels of CO and don’t even know it.

Carbon monoxide detector

I have a Carbon Monoxide detector now, isn’t that enough?

Unfortunately, no, it isn't.

U.L. (a non-profit product safety agency) lists carbon monoxide alarms that don’t go off until your family has been exposed to 70ppm (parts per million) for over 3-1/2 hours! Alarming, considering that most international limits for unsafe levels (including OSHA and the World Health Organization’s recommendations) are much lower than that: 15-35 ppm. Carbon monoxide is sneaky, sometimes coming from sources in your home that you don’t think about: a water heater, gas range or logs, a space heater, boiler, or an attached garage – so they all need to be checked.

Don’t Worry: Carbon monoxide protection
is one of the easiest things you can take care of.

In fact, it’s easy as 1,2,3:

Get your home checked.

Protection against this silent killer is so quick and easy, but many don’t realize it until it’s too late.

Remember that even low-levels of carbon monoxide can both cause health problems and also indicate other issues in your home that need to be taken care of.
